THE MATERIAL BECOMES BOTH SUBJECT AND OBJECT IN DECAY WORKS. EVERY LAYER PROVOKES A SLOW, UNPREDICTABLE CHEMICAL REACTION TO THE PREVIOUS ONE. IT BEGINS WITH OBSERVATION AND EXPERIMENTATION.

BY APPLYING PULVERIZED BONES - A REFERENCE TO THE FLEMISH MASTERS WHO USED CRUSHED BONES IN PAINT PIGMENT -.

TODAY, AUTHENTIC DINOSAUR REMAINS AND PURE GOLD LEAF BLEND PERFECTLY INTO THE NEW GENERATION OF DECAY WORKS.

THE DECISION TO USE CUT AND FINELY MOULDED, APPROXIMATELY 85.000.000 YEAR OLD EDMONTOSAURUS BONES CLEARLY EMPATHIZES THE VANITAS 'MOTIF'.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THESE ARTWORKS LIES IN THE POWER OF DISPLAY. THEY SHOW A CONCEPTUAL BALANCE BETWEEN PAST AND PRESENT, BEAUTY AND DECAY.

THE METAPHOR OF THE  FRAGILITY OF LIFE IN ITSELF CONTAINS SOMETHING IMMORTAL. THE DECAY SEQUENCE IS INFINITE; IT REMAINS IN CONSTANT EVOLUTION, STIMULATING US TO THINK ABOUT THE PAST, THE FUTURE AND OUR DESTINY IN AN EVER EXPANDING AND CHANGING UNIVERSE.
