ORNITHISCHIANS ARE ONE OF THE TWO MAJOR GROUPS OF DINOSAURS, SOLELY CONSISTED OF HERBIVORES.

THE WORD ORNITHISCHIAN MEANS “BIRD-HIPPED”, BUT ARE NOT RELATED TO BIRDS. THEY ARE RECOGNIZED BY THEIR JAWS (toothless horny beak) OR A LATTICE OF BONY TENDONS CRISSCROSSING OVER THE SPINE OF THE DINOSAUR.

THESE DINOSAURS CAME IN A WIDE VARIETY OF SIZES AND SHAPES RANGING FROM THE CERATOPSIANS LIKE TRICERATOPS TO HADROSAURS LIKE MAIASAURUS.

ORNITHISCHIANS FIRST APPEARED ROUGHLY 200 MILLION YEARS AGO.
