9.32 Ct GRANDIDIERITE
Origin: Nampoana quarry, Ampamatoa, Bezavona Massif, Taolanaro, Anosy, Madagascar
Along with Pezzottaite, Grandidierite is also one of the rarest gemstones on earth. Grandidierite
rough in general is extremely hard to find, especially facet grade material. It usually yields only
about 0.5 ct or smaller after cutting. This flawless gem is presumably one of the largest
grandidierites known and is a famous piece of its variety. This gemstone is cut along the C-Axis
which is the reason for it having such an intense color.
